Yes, you can use a domain registered with us for a Tumblr site by completing the following steps:

Log in to your cPanel, scroll to 'Domains' and click the 'Advanced DNS Zone Editor' icon.

If you are pointing your main domain (i.e. example.com) to Tumblr, and want to continue using DOWO Digital for other services, such as email please contact technical.support@dowo.digital, as we will need to complete some additional configuration for you.

If you are creating a subdomain, (i.e., tumblr.example.com), then enter 'tumblr' into the 'Name' field under 'Add a new Record'.

Now, you'll want to fill in the rest of the details with the following data:

  • TTL: put default Time To Live: 14400 (seconds)
  • Select Type: A
  • Address: put the Tumblr IP '66.6.44.4'
  • Click 'Add Record'

Now, login to Tumblr.

Click the name of your blog at the top of the Dashboard and click 'Settings'.

Make sure 'Use a custom domain name' is ticked, and enter your domain (i.e. example.com or tumblr.example.com). Click 'Save Changes'.

If you are editing a current DNS record, like the main domain, it can take up to 4 hours for the new settings to take effect.
